Michael R. Swayze

Michael Ross Swayze is a founding board member of NJ SHARES and a member of several other boards and organizations including the Anti-Poverty Network of New Jersey (APN), the National Energy & Utility Affordability Coalition (NEUAC), Philadelphia Neighborhood Networks and the New Jersey Low Income Energy Network (founder and former Chairperson). He worked for the Union County Division of Social Services from 1972 to 2015, holding roles including Social Work Supervisor/LIHEAP Coordinator and Assistant Administrative Supervisor of Social Work, where he oversaw the Work First New Jersey program, from 2007 to 2015. Over the course of his career, Swayze earned numerous awards, including the Energy Vanguard Award from the New Jersey Community Action Association and the Sister Patricia Kelly Achievement Award from the National Fuel Funds Network. He earned a B.A. in sociology and social work from Kean University.
